  • Speaker: Dr. Hari Kunduri - "A Brief History of Stephen Hawking's Work"

    Stephen Hawking is best known to the general public for his best selling popular science books, documentaries, and above all, his inspiring life story.
    To theoretical physicists however, he will be remembered most for his spectacular discoveries. In this talk I will discuss three areas where he made
    great contributions: cosmology, the mathematical theory of black holes in general relativity, and finally the quantum mechanics of black holes.
