  • Presentation: Michael Power - "Star Formation: The Story So Far"

Michael Power is from New Waterford, Cape Breton and credits his interest in physics to his high school mathematics teacher, Colin Campbell. His passion for Astrophysics led him to Saint Mary's University where he completed his B.Sc. in Physics. He also pursued a B. Ed. degree and taught high school for a few years to pay forward his own high school teacher's inspiration. He is currently completing his M.Sc. at MUN under the supervision of Dr. Hilding Neilson. In September, he will start work on his PhD degree at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Toronto with the ultimate goal of using his passion for research and teaching to raise public interest in and understanding of astrophysics.
