Image of comet "C/2007 N3 (Lulin)" made from four 10 second frames taken
near 03:30UT February 26th 2009 at the accessible top of Red Cliff Road
(between St. John's and Outer Cove). Ambient temperature about -5C. Canon
EOS 350D on Celestron 80GT f/5 refractor, tracking by means of a homemade
Poncet platform. Frames combined in Registax3, final
curves in CorelDraw11. As with other images made with this setup, bright
stars show violet fringing due to the imperfect nature of the telescope
(its objective is a simple achromat, not a more expensive apochromat").
There is no trace of a blue ion tail in this image; the comet was barely
perceptible to the unaided eye under Leo at the time."
