"C/2014 S2 Panstarrs" taken November 11, 2015 at Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Equipment - C11 on EQ8, Canon 6D (modified) and LPS-P2 filter. Autoguided using ED80, QHY5LII-mono and PHD2. Images captured with assistance of BackYardEOS, stacked and processed in PixInsight. Stack of 18, 120-second subs @ 6400iso (36min total integration time).
This comet was discovered by the prolific PANSTARRS observatory (Panoramic Survey Telescope & Rapid Response System) in September 2014 and designated C/2014 S2. It reaches Perihelion (closest point to Sun) on Dec 9, 2015. It's currently on an orbit that takes it over 2200 years (!) for one trip around the sun.
