This image of Jupiter was taken on August 24, 2010 using a 110 mm diameter ED refractor telescope
attached with a Canon A 590 camera, showing exceptional detail for the
aperture size. Jupiter's southern equatorial belt appears to have disappeared in this
photo. Usually two darker red coloured belts appear as a result lower level clouds appearing in these regions. Scientists believe
that high altitude white clouds have currently obscured the southern darker
region.
