Image of Jupiter taken from St. John's, Newfoundland.
Photographed by Tim Caruck - September 23, 2011

This is how Jupiter looked at 2am on the morning of Sept 23, 2011. The Great Red Spot was clearly visible and in perfect view.  Jupiter is now in the northern hemisphere Sky's and appears higher and clearer with less atmospheric distortion. I imaged it through an 8in SCT using a Canon Powershot camera in video mode at 20 frames per second.   I combined 1000 images and processed the image with Registax.
