Mars from the yard (POD) at ~12:30am this morning March 1, 2012 . Nice and steady out this time, very clear (and cold), Mars high near the meridian. 60s avi recorded with filterless Philips SPC900 webcam at 640x480 20fps using OpenVideoCapture, all settings manual (except "Auto White Balance"), gamma a bit less than default to accentuate albedo features a bit more in the raw video; on CPC 1100 telescope with 3x Barlow (so at f/30). Mars is at its closest for this apparition on the 5th. Click on image for full original photo. |
