Image of Saturn taken from St. John's, Newfoundland.
Photographed by Tim Caruk - April 15, 2012

Saturn is currently at it's closest to the Earth for the year. On the early morning of April 15, 2012, the wind and temperature were just right to allow great views of Saturn. You could see 4 or 5 of it's faint moons and delicate detail in it's cloudy atmosphere.   I managed to image the planet here by combining about 3000 video images through a Celestron C9.25 SCT.
