Image of Jupiter taken from St. John's, Newfoundland.
Photographed by Tim Caruk - January 21, 2014

On the night of January 21st Jupiter was near it's closest to Earth for the year.  A very clear night revealed a terrific amount of detail including the Great Red Spot.  Two of it's large moons Europa and Ganymede are visible as well.   I took the image with a Celestron Neximage 5 through a C9.25 SCT.
