The Sun as photographed with the Centre's Coronado PST (40mm aperture, 0.7 Angstrom tunable filter) taped to OTA of CPC-1100 (for pointing/tracking convenience), Philips SPC900nc webcam with 2x Barlow, 60s 20fps video clip.)

While sunspot 1089 was visible towards the centre of the Sun's disk as the Sun emerges from its prolonged solar minimum and enters Cycle 24, there is certainly growing prominence activity as seen at the edge and these made a more photogenic target in H-alpha.
