2017

International Astronomy Day 2017

The RASC St. John's Centre will be at the Johnson Geo Centre, Signal Hill,
to explain astronomy and offer views of daytime and night time
celestial objects through telescopes.

Saturday April 29th 2017 (2pm to 5pm and 8 to 10pm) *

Butter Pot Star Party

The RASC St. John's Centre will be holding its annual Butter Pot Star Party
at Butter Pot Provincial Park offering telescopic views of the Moon, Planets
and Deep Sky objects, as well as Solar viewing during the day.

July 28th & 29th 2017 *

Evening Under The Skies

The RASC St. John's Centre will be joining Terra Nova National Park with astronomy
presentations, and offering telescopic night time views of the Moon, Planets
and Deep Sky objects, as well as Solar viewing during the day

August 4th & 5th 2017*
at the Activity Centre

Science Literacy Week

The RASC St. John's Centre will have a display at the Avalon Mall
(in the open area near the GAP) as part of Science Literacy Week.
Information on astronomy and the RASC will be provided.

September 2017 (12am to 5pm)

International Observe the Moon Night

The RASC St. John's Centre will be holding its annual International Observe tthe Moon Night
at Signal Hill (probably the National Park Interpretation Centre Parking Lot.  Close up views
of the Moon, and possibly other celestial objects (Planets and Deep Sky objects)
will be provided.

October 28th 2017 (8 to 10pm) *

* NOTE:- All outdoor events are weather permitting
